Join the Wisconsin Chapter and Delay In Block Productions for an exclusive 55-minute behind-the-scenes tour of the legendary SS Badger, exploring areas of the ship rarely seen by the public and never before documented this extensively on camera.

For the first time, Lake Michigan Car Ferry granted Delay In Block Productions unprecedented access below deck to film the Badger’s massive engine room, boiler room, and steering gear compartments. Guided by Chief Engineer Andy VerVelde, this presentation takes viewers deep inside the last coal-fired passenger steamship operating in the United States, offering a detailed look at how the Badger’s propulsion system, steam plant, and steering systems work together to power this Great Lakes icon.
Currently, this film is only being shown onboard the SS Badger itself, meaning that unless you purchase a ticket and sail aboard the vessel, you cannot see this documentary anywhere else. This Wisconsin NRHS presentation offers a rare opportunity to experience this exclusive production and gain a deeper understanding of one of the most fascinating operating steamships in America today.
Please join us for this special and exclusive look inside the inner workings of the SS Badger!
If you are able, please attend in person at our regular meeting venue in Fox Point; doors open before 7:00 pm for social time. Those who cannot attend in person are encouraged to download the latest version of Zoom software to their computers (or tablets, or smartphones) to attend virtually. ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED to access this event remotely; use this link to register. Contact membership (at-sign) nrhswis (period) org with any questions before 3:00 pm June 5.
